PwC Director named Laserfiche Chief Corporate Strategist and CIO

Experienced PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) director Thomas Phelps IV has joined Laserfiche as Chief Corporate Strategist and CIO to lead the company’s Marketing and Information Technology (IT) organisations.

Leveraging over a decade of experience as a Director in PwC’s IT Security, Privacy & Risk national practice, Phelps will also accelerate integration between the Laserfiche strategic sales, professional services and marketing strategy departments.

“Laserfiche will benefit from a leader like Thomas, whose experience building relationships and nuanced understanding of C-suite concerns will help amplify our presence among Fortune 1000 companies,” said Nien-Ling Wacker, Laserfiche Founder and CEO.

While at PwC, Phelps led the innovation of content security best practices for the motion picture industry, helped launch the Telecom and Network Services business and led multimillion dollar enterprise-wide engagements for Fortune 500 companies. Prior to PwC, he held various roles at Motorola, where he developed six sigma-based quality control processes for a new manufacturing line, developed training programs, and helped launch the Motorola Internet Software Products Division.

Phelps has guest-lectured at the University of Southern California on business continuity management and security topics

At its Empower 2014 User Conference earlier this year, Laserfiche announced a 2014 product roadmap of software releases that includes social BPM, expanded mobile offerings and new web products.

Laserfiche’s new social BPM functionality will provide a place for people to collaborate around document-driven business processes, answering questions, sharing ideas and capturing tacit knowledge that is often lost when projects end or employees leave an organization.

Laserfiche Web Accelerator helps geographically dispersed organizations share and access images in their Laserfiche repositories without sacrificing speed.

This is accomplished by offloading image caching to improve the performance of all Laserfiche web products, including Laserfiche Web Access 10, the next generation of Laserfiche’s thin-client interface.
