Nuix and MicroForensics attack ediscovery market

Australian forensic search specialist Nuix is teaming up with US company MicroForensics to develop an integrated ediscovery platform.

MicroForensics is a leading developer of forensically defensible data collection technology.

“Nuix has spent a long time perfecting the right side of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), which has to do with data processing and analysis, while MicroForensics’ development has focused on the collection and preservation capabilities, on the left side of the EDRM,” said Nuix CEO Eddie Sheehy.

“This partnership means that users will be able to collect, preserve, process and analyze their data, including information stored in SharePoint, in a matter of hours and days, as opposed to weeks and months.”

“We were drawn to Nuix’s ease of use and scalability on a small footprint, which have been goals of ours as well,” said Jaime Florence of MicroForensics.

“Over the course of the last few years we realized that our two companies had really been pursuing the same objectives, with MicroForensics focused on collection and Nuix focused on processing and early case assessment. Nuix’s recently announced five-year contract to provide technology to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is further proof of the product’s leadership role in this industry."
