Salmat sells BPO unit to Fujifilm

The Asia-Pacific business process outsourcing (BPO) industry has undergone a major shift with the purchase of Australia’s Salmat Document Solutions by Japan’s Fujifilm Holdings, parent company of Fuji-Xerox.

The $A375M purchase includes all the shares of Salmat Document Management Solutions and its 11 subsidiaries as well as Salmat’s Asian business unit.

The Salmat business acquired by Fujifilm includes scanning bureau services.
and statement printing and delivery.

Fujifilm says it is keen to accelerate the company’s shift from a hardware-centred business model,  offering multifunction devices and printers, to the solutions and services business.

It is also keen to expand its solutions and services in China and other Asian markets.
