IntelliChief delivers for Thomas & Betts

IntelliChief LLC, the official document management solution provider to Infor, has been chosen to deliver a solution to global manufacturer Thomas & Betts to streamline their processes while eliminating paper.

Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, with global locations in Australia, Canada, Belgium, Singapore and approximately 9400 employees worldwide, Thomas & Betts is a leading manufacturer of low-voltage and ultralow-voltage electrical products such as connectors, conduits and fittings as well as wiring management products for the construction, industrial and utilities markets.

Thomas & Betts will begin using IntelliChief as a document storage and secure retrieval solution, primarily accessing documents from its ERP system, Infor LX. Not only will the IntelliChief solution integrate directly with their Infor application reducing the manual effort to manage the paper overload, but it will also eliminate the re-printing cost of paper, toner, printers and most importantly the cost of storage of those paper documents. The company estimates that with the rising cost of managing all that paper, Thomas & Betts will see a payback in less than a year.

Thomas & Betts will gain the ability to:

  1. perform all document delivery, processing, archiving, and retrieval functions from within its Infor LX ERP system.
  2. automate the document-related tasks now performed manually.
  3. store documents in a centralized archive with highly-customisable document retention rules.
  4. automatically pull data from their ERP system to index documents correctly with an unlimited number of index fields.

"Manufactures require tight control of documents and records, and IntelliChief will greatly improve Thomas & Betts' ability to remain compliant with even the most stringent regulations while increasing efficiency, accuracy and security of critical information," comments Ken Anderson, Vice President with IntelliChief LLC.

While IntelliChief is helping Thomas & Betts to improve operational efficiency by storing documents electronically for easy retrieval from any desktop, the company also protects those critical documents from disaster by backing them up in its secure repository that is easily linked to any company's disaster recovery plan.
