Iomega secures Commonwealth Department

Storage solutions provider Iomega has been chosen by the Commonwealth Department of Finance and Administration (Finance) to install its Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution as part of a new technical configuration in its Electorate offices.

Iomega's P400 Windows powered NAS servers are to be deployed in 243 locations across Australia and will be rolled out by Australian SME Volante Systems, who will provide IT equipment, maintenance and onsite support.

The deployment will enable Electorate Office staff to share and store files, organise and protect critical data. Iomega's wholesale partner, Ingram Micro, organised the logistical deployment of the products to every location, with installation beginning later this month.

Iomega's products will play a pivotal part in this IT upgrade project.  As the agency responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality IT support to Senators, Members and their staff in Electorate Offices, a number of networked storage solutions were tested before selecting Iomega as the most appropriate solution for Electorate Office storage needs.

Iomega's P400 NAS products provided a reliable, robust and flexible storage management solution, and were also compatible with the back-up solution.

Senior Manager for Iomega Australia and New Zealand, Scott Dillon, says the contract win is a significant one for Iomega on a global scale. "It is our first contract with a Federal Government agency and I'm delighted our storage solutions will assist Electorate Office staff in effectively storing and managing data."
