SilkWorm Fabric gets widespread adoption
A series of storage management companies have adopted Broacde's new SilkWorm Fabric Application Platform and Brocade has released a new developer kit for the platform.
Amongst the companies that announced this week that they would be adopting the Fabric Application Platform was Alacritus Software, CommVault, FalconStor Software, Incipient, InterSAN, StoreAge Networking Technologies and Topio.
The Fabric Application Platform was announced last month and provides the above companies with an open platform for fabric applications and will host data movement, volume management and data management applications.
The new Software Developers Kit (SDK) for the Fabric Application Platform was announced this week. Available to developers the kit provides them with the API for the Xpath application level and provides support for virtual disk, virtual tape, mirroring and online data migration.
