HP to star for Mercedes

A multi million dollar outsourcing contract between DaimlerChrysler and HP has been inked, with the purpose of enabling DaimlerChrysler to concentrate on expanding its business in the Pacific region.

HP's outsourcing solution covers the core IT infrastructure at DaimlerChrysler, including back office applications, internal phone system (PABX) and help desk applications. DaimlerChrysler's intention is to configure its IT applications to monitor vehicle logistics, accounting and administration.

Frank Sassone the senior manager of IT services at DaimlerChrysler was confident that the partnership would assist and accelerate DaimlerChrysler's plans for the future; "HP provided us with the 'one stop total IT solution' we were looking for.

"HP also demonstrated that it constantly keeps up to date with best practice, documenting everything to strict quality control guidelines, resulting in better management of resources during peak work periods."

Luxury car maker Mercedes is the star of the DaimlerChrysler stable. DaimlerChrysler also produces Jeep.
