It's not just businesses that are looking to increase their storage. Consumers are increasingly looking for Gigabytes of storage. In an effort to answer the market, Maxtor has entered into an agreement with Dick Smith Electronics.

The popular electronics shops will sell Maxtor's hard disk storage solutions through its Dick Smith and PowerHouse stores.

"As more consumers use their PCs to enable digital content for movies,online photos and Web sites the demand for home user storage is on theincrease. Often consumers know they need more storage space to enable thesetasks, but are often not confident in which solution would be best for theirPC or how to install it correctly," said Craig Davis, the national salesmanager for Maxtor. Maxtor believes that consumers trust the Dick Smith brand name and will be reassured by this when buying storage solutions.
