InputAccel now supports colour

Input Software has released a new version of InputAccel, its document capture software, which includes support for colour scanning and the distribution of document information across the Web.

InputAccel Version 2.2 is fully scalable and can be upgraded from a single workstation processing less than 1,500 pages per day to a multi-user environment processing thousands of documents per hour.

The latest release incorporates support for the new Kodak colour scanner 3590C, distributed scanning at remote locations and a new Point.Click.Scan user interface that simplifies the document capture process. Extensions have also been made to InputAccel's capture flow technology, which permits different processing rules to be defined for particular documents, document types and batches.

COLOUR FOR SAME COST AS MONO

As the first document capture solution to support Kodak's new colour scanner, John Stetak, vice president of marketing at Input Software, said, "with InputAccel and the Kodak 3590C, companies finally have a solution for colour scanning that costs only marginally more than black and white".

Version 2.2 also extends the document capture process across the enterprise and beyond, by allowing scanning and indexing to be done at any location and the document image and index information, to be sent via the Internet or other network.

InputAccel is targeted at imaging projects of any size. It can be used in a standalone configuration on a single server or in a client-server configuration across multiple servers. InputAccel integrates with data capture solutions such as RAF's Cartouche, with integration for Readsoft's Eyes & Hands expected in the third quarter of this year. The product also interfaces with various EDM solutions such as those from FileNet, IBM, Tower Technology and Documentum.
