DataCom opens in Sydney

Leading imaging service bureau DataCom Information Systems has recently opened a Sydney operation and plans to offer the full range of services provided by its established Melbourne business.

The firm is in the process of hiring staff and installing equipment to offer the same services as that of its South Melbourne operation, which employs over 100 staff.

Director Don Beggs said the Sydney operation will provide computer output to microfiche (COM), computer output to laser disc (COLD), laser print and mail and full document scanning and imaging services in the 800 square metre facility.

Another plan is for a high-speed data link between the two state operations.
