FileMaker developer edition

FileMaker has announced the release of FileMaker Pro 4.0 Developer Edition.

The new edition features an API (Application Program Interface) that allows developers to write External Functions for FileMaker Pro 4.0 databases such as credit-card verification and complex scientific and financial operators.

With 100 per cent Pure Java certification, the edition enables developers to access FileMaker databases over any Java-enabled operating system such as Windows 98 and Mac OS. It also offers a selection of third-party plug-ins that provide a wide array of automated tasks, including a SQL/ODBC plug-in that allows users to easily connect to ODBC hosts and perform SQL statements on tables.

FileMaker 4.0 Developer Edition runs on Windows 95, Windows NT and Mac OS and is priced at $870.
