Plasmon releases network integration solution

Plasmon has announced the release of NetReady, an out of the box network integration solution.

NetReady combines technology from Plasmon's Multitasking manager software family of products with Direct Netwrok Attach technology proving immediate network connectivity for CD jukeboxes.

Plug-in, switch on, assign and IP address and NetReady allows users to access to D-Series CD jukeboxes via Windows NT, Novell NetWare or Unix networks either independently or concurrently.

The solution has been designed using a RISC based architecture. With dual SCSi ports, NetReady supports up to two jukeboxes on one network mode.

Based on CD MANAGER software, true-multi-tasking, multi-threaded opinion is provided. Caching is allocated on the built-in drive for retention of recent files.

All management tasks are performed using a standard browser on a client workstation. Functions include setting security and access permissions as well as management of the CDs for tasks such as import/export via the mailslot, magazine management and configuration settings.

CDs can be viewed separately, in groups or mixed.

The Netready solutions allow up to 1440 CDs to be connected to the network using only a single network connection. Solutions are priced from $11,400.
