Objective gets behind NSW agencies

March 11, 2009: The NSW Government's former Corporate Shared Services, now known as ServiceFirst, has selected Objective as their Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution to improve business processes and information sharing across multiple agencies.

ServiceFirst is a major new shared services partner for NSW Government agencies and brings together the former Central Corporate Services Unit (CCSU), Corporate Shared Services (CSS) and Department of Commerce Shared Services.

Objective will be rolled out to over 1,200 users in a number of agencies regionally across NSW. Objective will capture and manage information and support business processes for a wide range of ServiceFirst clients on the shared service ECM platform.

Tony Walls, CEO, Objective Corporation said: “We are delighted to be working with ServiceFirst, a shared service provider to the NSW Government, to help them enhance their business process efficiency.

“Our experience with Health Corporate Network in WA, Shared Services SA, Scottish Government, the UK Research Council and now with ServiceFirst, shows Objective’s strength in delivering comprehensive, secure and compliant ECM solutions for large multiagencyenvironments.”

The initial stage of the ServiceFirst project modelled over 40 business processes across all agencies. The steering committee with representatives from each agency, then decided on ten key business processes that Objective will help streamline and manage including:• correspondence and records management;• contact management with internal and external stakeholders;• processing of Finance, HR and IT transactions;• and responses to Ministerial and Director Generalcorrespondence.

The business drivers for ServiceFirst to implement an Objective solution included replacement of a legacy records management system that only managed paper-based records; finding an effective way to manage an increasing number of electronic records created on a daily basis across the business; improvement of information-sharing between regionally dispersed agencies; creation of a single, secure solution for all document and records management; and ensuringlegislative compliance with record keeping standards.
