Medical coding app comes to Android

Eurofield Information Solutions (EIS) has announced the release of its TurboCoder ICD-10- CM Android app, which is able to be used offline and includes the complete ICD-10-CM classification to enable health professionals to easily find codes in the NEW ICD-10-CM Code Set.

The new TurboCoder app has the look and feel of the printed classification, and provides a cost effective replacement for the ICD-10-CM book.

Features include:

  • Faster, more accurate code look up
  • Easy-to-use intuitive interface
  • Spelling help and auto-complete
  • Search by word, main term, or code
  • Works offline, no Internet access required
  • Regular updates and errata through to September 2016
  • No subscription fees

EIS also has released a no-cost version of its TurboCoder ICD-9-CM for Android application. The Ninth Revision will still be relevant following the October transition, for both motor vehicle and occupational medicine, and treatments that straddle the transition date will require dual coding and separate claims. TurboCoder ICD-9-CM for Android not only enables improved speed, accuracy, and convenience, but it is free compared to ICD-9-CM books, which still retail for $US64.95 or more.

“The October 1 ICD-10-CM transition has come and gone and physicians, health information managers and coders now have to make all the coding and billing processes work. The TurboCoder ICD-10-CM Android app is a game changer, and creates a NEW paradigm for using ICD-10-CM and finding the right codes quickly and easily,” said Alfred Papallo, the Founder and CEO of EIS.

“And for those who haven't tried TurboCoder with TurboSearch yet, free TurboCoder ICD-9-CM for Android is both a valuable tool and an opportunity to test drive some of the features that make the TurboCoder ICD-10-CM Android app so great.”

TurboCoder is already the preferred digital coding solution for a number of leading medical organizations, including the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), which represents nearly 5,000 physicians and health care professionals specializing in occupational and environmental medicine, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, an organization of 64,000 pediatricians committed to the physical, mental, and social health of children and young adults. Add to those the American College of Physicians (ACP), with 143,000 member internists, internal medicine sub-specialists, medical students, residents, and fellows is the largest medical-specialty organization in the United States.

The Android app is now available for purchase from Google Play Store and Amazon.

The suggested retail price of TurboCoder ICD-10-CM is $US49.95, however a launch promotion makes it available for $US24.95.
