RedDot releases CMS 7.5 and LiveServer 3.5

March 26, 2007: In the first step towards integrating with OpenText since its acquisition, the ex-Hummingbird CMS vendor, RedDot has released the latest version of its CMS.

True to statements made in October 2006, OpenText has delivered on phase one of its integration project between LiveLink ECM and RedDot.

The latest edition also aligns RedDot with SAP’s Portal and also offers federated search capabilities across RedDot’s CMS and SAP’s Portals. Version 7.5 integrates with Microsoft SQL to allow a full text index search as well as a new dashboard for easier monitoring of contributor activities.

RedDot has also released a new foundation for add-on Web components. The new foundation allows partners, customers and RedDot developers to build RedDot Web components, standardised tools, which can be placed within a page uniting content from the CMS with the component functionality. The first Web component - the collaboration forum - is available with this release to allow site administrators to quickly add on a Web forum.

The second phase, according to OpenText includes “a complete, single server platform with enterprise scale clustering and distribution, and simplified server configuration.” Now, Open Text Livelink ECM content can be delivered to the Web offering access to documents across intranets, extranets and Web sites.

"The newest versions of CMS and LiveServer give organisations more powerful Web content management and targeted content delivery with ease of use," said Christoph Bodi, vice president of technology for RedDot, The Open Text Web Solutions Group." As more organisations look to provide unique Web experiences to customers and prospects, we will continue to design RedDot Web solutions so site administrators, marketers and other business users can more easily create optimal Web experiences to meet the needs of their site visitors."
