Objective Partners Wollongong University

March 28, 2006: Objective Corporation has entered into a joint research and development initiative with the University of Wollongong with a key Professor jumping on board Objective’s ECM ship.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Wollongong, Professor Gerard Sutton says the partnership builds on the University’s long history of successful research collaborations. “Objective is a leader in its segment and has an exciting, innovative approach to developing solutions for its customers,” he says.

Professor Peter Eklund, professor of Information Systems at the university and a former head of the discipline, will work with Objective’s innovation strategy to assist the vendor in developing next-generation technology. Professor Eklund will specifically focus on integrating new search technologies and developing Objective’s ECM platform.

Previously, Professor Eklund has worked with the Australian Department of Defence and as a consultant in the US. As a foundation Board member of the Semantic Web Science Foundation, Eklund’s interests are in the application of computer science research in distributed systems to knowledge management problems.

Tony Walls, CEO of Objective Corporation says the University has a recognised international standard in the area of research.

“This appointment affirms our commitment to innovation through pure research and development,” says Walls.
