KAZ Consolidates ICT Group

July 4th, 2006: KAZ, Telstra’s ICT and IP services subsidiary, appoints Dr Dagmar Egen as the Director of Applications Development and Systems Integration.

KAZ Group, announced today July 4, 2006, the Appointment of Dr Egen. Dr. Egen is replaced in her former position as South Australian State General Manager by David Kelly. Reporting directly to KAZ Chief Executive Officer Mike Foster, Dr Egen will be responsible for developing growth business that will position KAZ as Australia’s leading ICT and IP service provider.

Dr Egen explained to IDM today that her new role sees KAZ’s current State-based structure for the department becoming nationalised under her control. She continued, “This will be a national system with new strategic directions for the company more in line with the parent company, it will leverage state work to a national level and make use of the excellent work already being done in that area by the company”.

Dr. Egen was responsible for setting up and managing Aspect Computing’s South Australian office from 1989 until the company’s acquisition by KAZ in 2002. Dr Egen has extensive experience in computer science and is a former Telstra Business Woman of the Year Finalist.

Late last month KAZ signed a five year contract worth $20 million in support services with the Royal Australian Navy and a three year $6 million contract with managed services contract to provide asset divestment and IT infrastructure management services to GESB, Western Australia’s largest super fund.
