Aussie software company turns back on U.S. and returns home
An Australian software company that specialises in I.T. solutions and services for defence, security and law enforcement, higher education, utilities and manufacturing organisations, has reflected the confidence in the Australian software engineering market by returning back home after U.S. ownership.
Eden Technology has been bought from Space Mark International by a consortium made up of Katrina Doring and Peter Roberts, former owners of Eden, and Rick Anstey, the chairman and co-founder and director of Timsco, which provides seed capital and services for new information and technology companies.
Katrina Doring, CEO of Eden talked about how pleased she was that this company is now back in Australian hands. "This is the ultimate expression of confidence in our business and Australia's software engineering capabilities. While the business did well and expanded internationally as part of the Space Mark Group, we realised that we would prefer to operate as owners rather than managers.
"We are all well positioned and intend to expand our business further both here in Australia and overseas."
Eden, founded in 1996, develops software applications designed to simplify day to day business to over 1,100 companies.
Its world leading applications include the following solutions. AMPS (asset management and planning system), FMMS (facilities maintenance management system), GEMS (general evidence management system), PA (procurement automation), FOCUS (fleet onboard command update system) and iLaunch (a software development platform that enables business analyst-level and end-users to create workflow solutions as stand-alone or legacy-integrated solutions).
Whilst Eden was owned by Space Mark International, Katrina Doring and Peter Roberts continued to direct operations, and as a result, expanded Eden's operations into the U.S. and Malaysia.
Their clients include the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Royal Malaysian Navy, Boeing Australia, NSW State Water, the University of New South Wales, ADI Ltd, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority and the Therapeutic Goods Association.
They are fully confident that their company will continue to grow now its back where the success started.
