Yamaha's CD-RW attempt burned by market change
Plummeting prices, continuing market difficulties and the highly volatile competitive environment have spelled the end of Yamaha's foray into the CD Burner market.
Yamaha will still provide CD-RW devices equipped with hard drive disk storage for consumer applications. Yamaha customers can also expect full technical support and warranty service for all Yamaha CD-RW drives for the full duration of the warranty period.
Yamaha will focus on home theatre and visual products, developing new business that will utilise the technology from its background in AV and IT solutions.
