UK bank wins award with Tower

One of the United Kingdom's leading financial institutions has won the "Document Management Project Award" in the 1997 Information Management awards in London. Bristol & West won the award for its Mortgage Application Processing (MAP) system, implemented by Tower Technology.

The Tower NT system was judged to be the most innovative and successful application of document management technology in a business project, after a rigorous evaluation by an independent panel of 24 industry figures. The system is based on Tower's Knowledge Management System integrated to Staffware Workflow.

The MAP system covers the cycle from initial mortgage application through to legal completion, and has improved customer satisfaction, reduced manual paper processing, increased mortgage application throughput and speeded the delivery to market of new products.

The system has also provided significant savings in processing time (around 50 per cent) while the amount of customer data captured has increased.
