BullGuard Launches Security Offerings

By Greg McNevin

November 23, 2007: Danish security firm BullGuard is making a new push in Australia and New Zealand with the local release of its popular PC and Mobile Phone security applications.

After attracting over three million users in its first year in Europe, the company is bringing its BullGuard Internet Security 8.0, Internet Security: Gamers Edition, Mobile Antivirus and Backup solutions down under in order to snare a foothold in the region.

The company’s services are much the same as traditional security solutions, however, they include innovative additions. For example, BullGuard Internet Security 8.0 contains typical home protection solutions such as Antivirus, Antispyware, Firewall and Spamfilters, however, it also includes a 5 gigabyte Online Backup drive which automatically archives important files should disaster strike.

The firm’s Mobile Antivirus software protects mobile devices by scanning every file that makes its way onto a handset, be it via email, SMS, Infrared, Bluetooth, WiFi, or cellular.

While BullGuard Backup enables automatic online and/or local backups of key files, documents and emails, similar to the backup offering in the firm’s Internet Security package. BullGuard Backup includes further backup options though, including Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Thunderbird compatibility.

BullGuard Internet Security 8.0 is priced at AU$89.95 for a 1-year subscription, while AU$59.95 will get a 1-year subscription for Mobile Antivirus and Backup.
