New multimedia e-book reader

LASER Corporation, an IT and consumer electronics accessories company, has launched a new multimedia e-book reader, the EB101.

With MP4 capabilities, theportable EB101 is fitted with a 5-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screen and unlike many other e-books on the market, allows users to store and view photos, watch video and movies in full colour, as well as listening to music – even while reading.

Additionally, with the EB101 e-book files and content can be shared with friends, rather than having to continuously download from the web. Fully licensed, the EB101 Digital Rights Management (DRM) functionality ensures access to supported content for playback.

Chris Lau, Managing Director of LASER, said, “Bookworms are starting to realise the myriad of benefits offered by e-books. Users can store a wide selection of novels on the EB101 which weighs no more than 300gms in total, also making it a great travelling companion. It is like having a large MP4 player – you can comfortably read books, watch video in full colour and listen to music, along with sharing content with friends. The EB101 is truly multi-use multimedia device.”

Apart from its full colour TFT screen, the EB101 has 2GB of memory and allows for 16GB with Micro SD memory card expansion. Readers can also select text size and orientation of the screen, and due to its compact size it can be taken anywhere fitting snug into a compact handbag.

The EB101 multimedia e-book reader is available now through a range of retailers for AU$149.95 (inc GST.)
