Going native for file review

Avantstar has announced a professional edition of its Quick View Plus (QVP) software for the legal industry that also facilitates file viewing for large enterprises and government agencies with expanded viewing of native files, metadata, and Microsoft Project Gantt files.

Company Founder and Co-President Pete Rockers said, “Law firms involved in litigation cull huge volumes of documents in various file formats for data pertaining to cases. The legal community faces the same challenge as businesses when it comes to software—cutting down on purchasing applications that they use only sporadically.

“QVP Professional Edition not only meets this need head on, but also the need for viewing and printing documents with their original formatting intact.”

Users can view files from a growing list of over 300 different file types in their native file formats. It is available as a Software Bundle or File Access and Print Utility (FAPU) product and licensed for use in conjunction with litigation case management, eDiscovery, and enterprise content management applications

A Metadata view provides access to metadata associated with a document but not visible in the actual file; while Auto search provides the ability to automatically search for information in a file.

It provides the ability to view Microsoft Project Gantt charts without the need to purchase Microsoft Project licenses. Key task and timeframe information is displayed.

Quick View Plus 11 Professional Edition for Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000 is available for $US495 (which includes a five-user license) with volume discounts available.
