Germany's soft Xpansion has released version 6 of PDF Render Center, its solution for PDF-based Document Management Systems.

It works as PDF Server and converts documents into standard file formats (PDF and image files). Afterwards, the application distributes the resulting files automatically.

Conversion and distribution are administered centrally by the PDF Server. PDF Render Center 6 includes both the license to create PDF files on multiple client computers (multi-user license) and special technical features to efficiently use it in multi-user environments.

It can be integrated into existing document management systems and is able to process large amounts of documents or data. At the same time, it reduces the costs for systematic processing, copying and archiving.

Additional advantages are lower current operating costs, customer relationship encouragement as well as improved coordination with standard software, with toolkits and with individual software which is integrated into content management, ERP, and other systems.

The converted documents and data will be available in bac end systems, for administration in databases as well as in document management and content management systems. Any content, previously unstructured or not, can be systematically organised, archived, protected and sent.

It converts a wide range of data formats to PDF, PDF/A, text files (ANSI or Unicode), images (e.g. JPEG or TIFF), including multi-page TIFF files

Output documents can be sent as copies to a folder or as e-mail attachments.
Version 6 adds Outlook integration, conversion of Outlook message files (MSG) and the ability toarchive files (ZIP and EML. The program also extracts files from archives and converts them.

Original files and converted files may be placed together in one output folder, and differing layouts of the original source files may be standardized into a common layout by using predefined template layouts (for example by using common headers and footers, watermarks, page orientation).

Prices start at 280 Euros (plus tax) for the basic module (PDF Render Center 6 Network Printer) with 10 network clients and 100 pages per week.
