FalconStor Certifies Intel Storage

January 26th, 2007: FalconStor says it is posed to bring enterprise-level continuos data protection to SMEs after giving Intel’s storage gear a big thumbs up.

The company has announced that it has certified Intel’s storage platform for its Continuous Data Protection (CDP) solution, giving Intel-loving SMEs and SMBs greater data protection options when planning for the apocalypse.

The new CDP appliance is a combination of Intel's SSR212CC, which is purchased separately, and FalconStor's CDP for SMB software. The company says that the solution was developed to help SMBs manage the dramatic growth of data and to remove the difficulty of multiple, time-consuming backups a day.

FalconStor claims that if disaster should strike, data can be recovered in minutes rather than hours or days, and as data is backed up continuously, data can be pulled back from any point in time, virtually eliminating data loss.

Administrators can choose to recover block, file, volume, disk or whole systems and the solution is also integrated with Microsoft Exchange, including Exchange 2007, SQL Server, Windows, Oracle, Sybase, and IBM Lotus Notes/Domino.

"Smaller companies have the same data challenges as enterprises, without the large IT staff," said Bernie Wu, vice president of business development, FalconStor. "By partnering with Intel we can offer our robust and enterprise-tested solution to Intel SMB customers in an easy to implement appliance."
