Google Office grows up

May/June Edition, 2008: The capabilities of computing in the cloud continue to advance, with Google adding regular updates to its Apps suite.

It is now possible to sync all of your Outlook events to your Google Calendar and Google Docs now has an improved menu bar when you’re editing a document. You can select features from menus, or click icons in the toolbar for frequently-used features. The ‘Save’ and ‘Save & Close’ buttons also now appear?above the toolbar.

In the Google Docs document list, you can now change the colors of folders to help you organise your files more effectively. Also, users can now transfer ownership of documents and presentations, so the creator doesn’t need to completely delete the file if there is no longer a need to have that document or presentation in the document list.
