May/June Edition, 2008: Finding a gas guzzler at carsguide.com.au has become a lot easier with the addition of new search capabilities following implementation of the Endeca Information Access Platform

Unisys has expanded its alliance with EMC to jointly market the EMC Documentum enterprise?content management software platform.?Unisys will now expand its team of Documentum-certified consultants who implement and deploy EMC enterprise content management solutions. ?Unisys has developed a standards-based interface between Documentum and its 3D Blueprinting modelling methodology to visualise the interconnections of their various enterprise content management activities (e.g. data administration; records, contract and case management; regulatory compliance; and other information-intensive tasks).

The News Digital Media site now offers Endeca’s Guided Navigation, geospatial filtering, data visualisation and context-driven content presentation (also known as Content Spotlighting?and Dynamic Merchandising).

The technical solution for carsguide.?com.au is comprised of three separate application frameworks operating on two hosting platforms in Sydney and Melbourne.

The first six months of the project was spent undergoing detailed requirements analysis, information architecture planning and visual design, while developing the technical solution framework with application supplier Endeca and technology partner Digital Motorworks (DMi).

With Endeca, Carsguide users?are now able to move seamlessly throughout the Web site to buy or sell a car or source motoring information faster than before.

“Carsguide.com.au is one of many companies gradually shifting away from the traditional search engines and database approaches,” Steve Papa, CEO of Endeca said.

A new content management system was also implemented using the Expression Engine (EE) platform.
