CeBit Kicks Off in Sydney

CeBit Underway in Sydney

May 20, 2008: Bright lights, techno music and the federal communications minister were all part of the show as CeBit kicked off in Sydney.

Occupying as much convention centre real estate as the annual Australian Motor Show, CeBit 2008 is underway with more than 35,000 pre-registered visitors and more expected to show up on the day. The conference and exhibition extends over three days and is the largest technology trade show in the country.

“We’re looking forward to a very exciting and dynamic show,” said Jackie Taranto, managing director, Hannover Fairs Australia.

Hannover Fairs are a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG and are responsible for the CeBit conferences and trade shows all over the globe. The Sydney show is sporting over 750 exhibitors, 20% of which are international visitors.

The business IT market is well represented, with major displays from Oracle, HP-Imagetech, Fujitsu, MailGuard, Ingres, EzeScan, Iron Mountain, Wacom, Amplify and many more.
