Volante merges with Ipex
The combined companies will create the largest-owned IT infrastructure and services group in Australia.
If the merger is approved by the Volante shareholders this month, then the annual revenue is expected to be $480 million with 850 employees.
Ipex provides end-to-end ICT services and solutions, including application integration services, and it is one of Australia's leading manufacturer of desktops, notebooks, servers and storage devices.
Mr Allan Brackin, chief executive officer of Volante said: "This is a major step in our strategy to build Australia's leading IT solutions, services and selective outsourcing company.
"Volante Group will become the strongest Australian-owned IT solutions, infrastructure and services provider, offering significant benefits to our customers. We will be large enough to provide them with world-class solutions, combining the two companies' best practices, research and development, but small enough to be flexible, responsive, cost-effective and totally focused on our customers' needs.
"The merger will increase Volante Group's revenue by 55 percent, provide greater competitive strength and broaden our product range, customer base and geographic reach which will now include a significant presence in Canberra. There are substantial synergies between our businesses, which will enable us to reduce combined costs and will strengthen our competitive position when tendering for corporate and government infrastructure and outsourcing contracts. We will also be able to provide our employees with greater opportunities for career development."
Mr Joel Schwalb, founder of Ipex said: "We are delighted to be joining Volante Group, which we greatly respect for its high service standards, flexibility and management systems. There is an excellent cultural fit between the businesses and my colleagues and I look forward to contributing to Volante's further growth."
Most of Ipex IT services will be integrated with Volante Systems, because they provide a wide range of IT infrastructure services to the corporate, government and SME sectors. Ipex's applications development services will merge with Volante Solutions, which provides customised applications and business solutions.
