SE Water pours BI into bills

South East Water Australia will upgrade its customer information system (CIS) with DSTi Billing’s HiAffinity product.

The Government owned utility, which provides water and sewerage services to the south-east region of Melbourne, has signed a contract to extend its relationship with DST International Billing well into the next decade. Under the agreement, South East Water Australia will upgrade its CUSTIMA software to the latest customer information system from DST, called HiAffinity.

Peter O’Donoghue, manager of business systems at South East Water, said: “South East Water has chosen to upgrade to HiAffinity as it offers enhanced features, improved usability and simpler business processes while extending the existing partnership that we have with DST International.”

HiAffinity CIS will allow the utility company to build its own business rules into the system. The utility said expected customer call time to be reduced due to improved front-end screens for customer service representatives.

The system can also be integrated with Web interface CyberCSR, which allows customer self-access to detailed account information and electronic bill payment via the Internet.

South East Water will be able to use HiAffinity CIS to extend application programming interfaces (APIs) to enable integration with third parties.
