September 9, 2008: The Royal Australian Mint is rolling ahead with its modernisation program, with Cincom announcing that it has signed a $3.6 million contract with the Mint for a new IT Business System.

Scheduled for completion in late 2009, Cincom says the new system will help the Mint’s objective of becoming “one of the best manufacturing facilities in the world”, and that it will be working to improve efficiency, governance and accountability for the Mint.

“Our systems and experience are in concert with the modernisation process currently underway at the Mint,” said Paul Hargreaves, Managing Director of Cincom Systems of Australia.

Hargreaves says that Cincom will also be working with Frontier and Demand Management Systems to help the Mint improve its business processes.

“The future of the Mint will be well catered for through Cincom’s innovative solutions for our IT Business Systems,” said Janine Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Australian Mint. “Along with our refurbishment project and new Material Handling and Warehousing System, the Mint is on its way to becoming a truly modern manufacturing facility.”
