Canon revs up workgroup scanning

March 26, 2009:Canon has announced the launch of the imageFORMULA DR-3010C, an easy-to-use, high speed A4 workgroup scanner aimed at small to medium-sized businesses.

The DR-3010C is Canon’s fastest scanner in this category and the first to offer 30-page-per-minute desktop scanning for B&W,greyscale and colour up to 600dpi . This is achieved through the DR-Series’ advanced sensor technology and its flexible, reliable document handling.

Daily tasks, such as scan-to-email, scan-to-print or convert to searchable PDF, can be performed at the touch of a button, and up to nine separate tasks can bepre-programmed and operated from the scan-to-job panel with numerical LED display.

The DR-3010C is able to handle demanding workloads, with a suggested daily volume of up to 3000 scans. The scanner also offers advanced processing features including text orientation recognition, auto-size andde -skew, as well as auto-colour detection that can reduce the captured file size, allowing for faster scanning and processing of business documents.

The DR-3010C ships with a software bundle including CapturePerfect, OmniPage, PaperPort, and Adobe Acrobat Standard enabling users to scan, file and manage their scanned documents. Users also receive BizCard Reader, which scans and tags business cards to create a fully searchable database of contacts.
