EMC Gets Behind Microsoft Unified Comms

October 22, 2007: Following Microsoft’s significant Unified Communications software release last week, EMC has announced that it will be offering technology solutions and consulting services to support its new product line.

In order to support Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, EMC says it will be providing a security-enhanced, scalable, and highly available integrated communications infrastructure, while the Microsoft specialists in its Global Services division will offer planning and design advice, as well as technology pilots and full-scale deployments for the new software.

Due to its stable of solutions for Exchange Server 2007 and SQL Server 2005, EMC is pitching itself as the vendor of choice for Communications Server 2007 deployments.

“EMC’s customers want to be able to get to their information, from any place, any time, on a variety of hardware platforms, and to be able to share and store it easily and securely,” said John Hollinger, Vice President and General Manager of the EMC Microsoft Practice, EMC Global Services.

“By combining Microsoft technology for streamlining end-user communications with EMC technology for managing the lifecycle of information, EMC is bringing this vision to life.”
