Accusoft has released Prizm Content Connect v6, a HTML5 zero-footprint content viewer with annotation and redaction controls and thumbnail display.

The HTML5 Viewer does not require any plug-ins to function, rather it simply relies on the functionality built into the web browser. Accusoft says this limits security risks from third party browser plug-ins and provides IT administrators the flexibility to choose the right browser for their environment needs.

"With these HTML5 enhancements, Prizm Content Connect has been optimised to view documents in desktop and mobile web browsers that support HTML5." said Brian Pageau, Product Group Director at Accusoft. 

"Additionally, users will be able to create and edit annotations, add a text note to a document or redact sensitive information from client records, using their fingertips on a smartphone or tablet device."

This release also includes improvements to the Prizm Content Connect Flash viewer, Proxy Server and SharePoint edition. These improvements contain product enhancements designed to give users a better response when paging through a file as it is loading. Additionally, enhancements have been made for the support of many popular formats, such as AutoCAD and PDF.

It allows users to view, convert, collaborate and share more than 300 document types right within the web browser.
