Kofax  has launched a new Mobile Capture application aimed specifically at motor vehicle accident claims.It enables policyholders to use cameras in mobile devices to capture documents and images at the scene of an accident, and instantly initiate a claim with their insurer.

“The Kofax Mobile Capture Auto Claims App addresses the evolving needs of insurers and insureds where mobility is most pervasive,” commented Drew Hyatt, senior vice president of Mobile Applications at Kofax. 

“Insurers now have a new channel into the claims management process that offers the highest quality images, accelerates the process and reduces manual errors and costs. Additionally, at a time when a policyholder is nervous, scared and possibly frustrated, they can rest assured that their insurer is capturing the information needed to provide them the highest level of service and resolve their claim rapidly. We are talking with several national auto insurers who have great interest in these benefits.”

Relevant documents and photos in support of the claim while ensuring that information is not retained on the mobile device to avoid the risk of sensitive data being accessed. 

Once information is submitted via the mobile app, the Kofax Mobile Platform automatically initiates the claim using data extracted from the documents captured by the insured. This significantly accelerates the claims process and ensures that all the information is provided in a timely and accurate manner, while reducing costs. The platform can also be used by insurers to create other apps such as mobile quotes.

Policyholders can use cameras in mobile devices to capture a driver’s license, license plate, proof of insurance, accident reports and other pertinent documents from the scene.
