Fuji-Xerox takes AP to the cloud

Fuji Xerox Australia is to offer a new accounts payable automation service hosted in the cloud, using EMC’s Enterprise Content Management software coupled with BRT’s APxCelerator accounts payable automation software.

Representing an early deployment of EMC’s Documentum xCelerated Composition Platform (xCP) as a cloud-based offering in Australia, the Fuji Xerox AP Service will manage all supplier documents through Fuji Xerox Australia’s document scanning centres with a hosted workflow.

Anthony Cogswell, Executive General Manager Global Services, Fuji Xerox Australia, said Fuji Xerox Global Services had identified a significant market demand for cloud-based services in Australia and the new AP Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) capabilities would add significant value to its existing data and document management product range.

“As a global services provider, we are constantly looking for new ways to add value and further meet our customers’ business objectives by introducing greater process efficiencies based on reliable, cutting-edge technology. The new AP SaaS enabled by EMC’s enterprise-grade content management infrastructure will deliver fast and effective services to businesses across Australia that are looking to streamline document management processes and save on operating costs. Our AP SaaS will provide benefits to our customers, such as a swift implementation with no ongoing maintenance, processing cost savings, and no upfront investment in software and infrastructure,” said Cogswell.

Commenting on the announcement, Craig Williams, General Manager Information Intelligence Group (IIG), EMC Australia and New Zealand, said EMC was very pleased to be working with Fuji Xerox Australia to deliver this first Cloud-based SaaS solution on EMC Documentum xCP in Australia which offers the ability to integrate to customers’ unique environments without undue complexity and cost.

“The deployment of this new solution is testament to EMC’s ongoing effort to meet customers’ needs by implementing customised services – in this case, a Cloud-based Accounts Payable solution on Documentum xCP to reduce project complexity and risk at a lower cost with fewer resources. It is a vital step forward in delivering viable technical solutions for managing big data, as the exponential level of data growth is impeding businesses’ ability to effectively manage and process data,” he said.
