SydneyPLUS acquires Inmagic Library products

Canada’s SydneyPLUS has acquired Inmagic's special library business, including Inmagic's DB/Text  Library Suite of products: DB/TextWorks, DB/Text  WebPublisher Pro, and Inmagic Genie. Additionally, the companies are announcing a strategic partnership to co-market and support Inmagic's Presto for Social Libraries.

SydneyPLUS also acquired the Inmagic trademark, which is strongly associated with the special library market. Inmagic retains and will continue to market and sell its Presto technology and its products, Presto KnowledgeNet, Presto AssociatioNet, and Presto IdeaNet. Inmagic, Inc. will continue to use the Inmagic name until such time as a new company name is established.

Australian reseller Maxus plans to continue to sell and support Inmagic products as now.

“We are confident that the move is a positive one and will enable the “new” Inmagic to concentrate on the core library products for the ongoing benefit of users,” said managing director Norma Tovey.

Inmagic's Presto for Social Libraries, which the companies will co-market and support under a strategic partnership, is an integration of Inmagic Genie, an integrated library system, with Inmagic's Presto.

Presto for Social Libraries is a Social Knowledge Network (SKN) application that integrates library workflow with knowledge-based content and the "wisdom of the community" to create a "Library 2.0" environment to support the research and business objectives of organisations.
