New name and IPO for storage vendor

LSI Logic Storage Systems has filed for an IPO and has announced that it is to change its name to Engenio Information Technologies.

The disk storage system vendor has filed an application for listing with the New York Stock Exchange to trade under the ticker symbol NGE, and it is to expand its board of directors. These steps were taken in preparation for the previously announced initial public offering and separation from its parent company, LSI Logic Corporation. The initial public offering is anticipated to be completed in the first half of 2004.

"We are proud to have chosen Engenio Information Technologies to represent us as we become an independent company," said Thomas Georgens, president and CEO, LSI Logic Storage Systems. "Engenio reflects appropriately upon our heritage of innovation in information storage technology while offering a strong new identity to serve us well in the future."
