Objective negotiate the military minefield

Enterprise content management company Objective Corporation has had its records management application tested and certified by the US Department of Defence (DOD) against the military records management specification, opening up a potentially lucrative market for the vendor.

The specification defines exhaustive requirements based on operational, regulatory and legal needs that must be met by Records Management Application (RMA) software used by the DOD and related agencies.

"Government and business organisations worldwide face increasingly stringent security compliance requirements in the area of records management,” said Tony Walls, CEO Asia Pacific, Objective Corporation.

Walls said that achieving compliance with military standards was not only significant in terms of competing for contracts in that particular market.

“Where compliance with DOD 5015.2 is mandatory for RMAs in US Defence organisations, the standard is increasingly being adopted throughout government generally and by private sector companies.

“The achievement of this certification is an illustration of Objective’s commitment to customers operating in high security environments in defence, law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

“As the company expands its international footprint, compliance with key international standards for records management will continue to be crucial in gaining new customers,” added Walls.
