Veritas improves EMC databases
Veritas has announced the immediate availability of Veritas Storage Extension for EMC, which will provide IT administrators with greater visibility over the performance of their EMC storage systems.
This product will utilize EMC's open Application Programme Interface to link Veritas Indepth application performance management software with EMC's systems. Veritas Indepth software optimises the performance of Oracle, SQL Server and DV2 UDB database servers running on a wider variety of storage platforms from companies such as EMC, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi and IBM.
The configuration of Veritas Storage Extension is designed to enhance application performance, increase storage efficiency, reduce management and ultimately help enable a lower total cost of ownership. Corey Ferengul, Vice President with the Meta Group said: "Optimising application and database performance can produce tremendous dividends for organisations by better leveraging the server and storage assets already in place.
