HP unveils high performance scanners

Hewlett Packard and Dicom have teamed up to offer customers two new high performance scanners which will deliver fast and efficient results in document scanning.

The new products are the HP Scanjet 8250 and HP Scanjet 8290. The agreement involves Dicom Australia packaging Kofax EDC software with the new HP Scanjet 8250 and Scanjet 8290 scanners before system integrators provide them to customers, which will create an end-to-end document management solution.

Seamus McGuinness, Managing Director for Dicom Australia said: "The integration of Kofax EDC software with HP's two new scanners ensures customers experience the highest quality document scans possible with superior document capture features.

"Kofax's Virtual ReScan software will work with HP's new scanners to produce perfect scans every time and will dramatically reduce the need for rescanning or pre-scan document sorting. As a result, customers can effortlessly produce perfect document scans without adjusting and readjusting the scanner for different paper types, colours or varying quality of the original.

"With HP's new document management scanners, we will be able to offer our customers an even braoder portfolio of quality products. Partnering with HP also enables us to capitalise on the company's strong expertise and wealth of experience in the SMB space."

John Gowland, Market Development Manager, Digital Imaging, Imaging & Printing Group, HP Australia said the decision to partner exclusively with Dicom Australia was an easy one for the company because of its wealth of experience and knowledge in the document management space: "HP chose Dicom Australia as it is one of the market leaders in EDM, and as such has a solid understanding of what the market needs and wants."
