SecureData gain extra leverage with Fulcrum

Information management systems provider SecureData Group (SDG) has continued its push into the Victorian market with the acquisition of IT infrastructure integrators Fulcrum.

SDG believes the move will further improve its information availability offerings, expand the depth and breadth of its infrastructure consulting and technical services, and allow it to take advantage of Fulcrum's managed services technologies.

Fulcrum have been focussed on backend technologies and disciplines including Sun, HP-UX, AIX, Linux, Microsoft, Oracle, Security, Availability, as well as process and procedure improvements around ITIL practices.

SDG Managing Director, Evan Penn, said this latest acquisition, coming as it does hot on the heels of SDG's recent acquisition of a majority stake in New Zealand-based database management services organisation SQL Services, will expand the SDG suite of services, providing clients with a "complete information and infrastructure availability solution."

He added: "We are looking to provide a real partnership for our clients. It is important to be able to assist them through the complete lifecycle of owning and managing a highly available information infrastructure."

Danny Davis, formerly the MD of Fulcrum, will be joining SDG as General Manager of Technology Strategy and in that role will continue to guide the development of services and strategies.
