EMC welcome new ASN Partners

Tripoint, Enstor and Dimension Data have achieved accreditation as EMC's Authorised Services Network (ASN) Partners, allowing them to service EMC's software and hardware as well as improve customer service levels by offering pre and post sales services.

Tripoint Corporation and Dimension Data have joined the Partner Program as Advanced Partners and will deliver EMC's full portfolio of professional services offering for EMC's storage platforms. Enstor has joined the Program as a Focus Partner and will deliver a select set of networked storage services that support the CLARiiON storage platform.

EMC and its ASN Partners help customers manage the demands created by the extreme growth of information which is increasing by 30 per cent each year. The ASN Partner Program was recently launched in Australia and represents a community of service partners that have been trained by EMC to provide automated storage networking services for EMC's solutions.

Over the last two years, EMC has been embracing the channel model, whilst the rest of the market has been withdrawing revenue streams out of channels to concentrate on services instead.

EMC has found that most companies are interested in the implementation skills they provide, which involves building up the companies infrastructure and dealing with software such as oracle and ASP. They make sure individuals are highly skilled for these tasks so that they can provide key advice.

EMC has built a number of training courses and certification programmes to allow partners to become involved with that level of implementation.

David Henderson, General Manager for Partners, Channels and Alliances in Australia and New Zealand, EMC Corporation can see many benefits in the Program for partners and customers: "The fundamental benefit of partners aligning with EMC is that they can control the customers' experience. No third party or vendor has to be involved with putting propositions to them. The companies have greater control over the customers' experience on a long-term basis by becoming trained and certified by EMC. Currently, you have a lot of people taking the services, consultancy and warranty away from the channel environment.

"From a partner's perspective, it is a very integrated approach. Not only will they look after storage, but also the LAN, land infrastructure and applications. It's a one-stop shop. The technical experience and intellectual property provided by EMC's training is a real asset."Related Article:
