The developers at data storage vendor StorageTek are probably having a well-earned rest now, following the introduction of a host of new products from the vendor.

First up, the company heralded the release of its new Mirror Store replication appliance, which is designed to provide business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, enhance disk-to-disk backup, and centralise storage management.

"We are committed to helping our customers improve their productivity, improve their service levels and reduce their total cost of ownership. Today's 24x7 enterprises require advanced solutions that protect against the enormous risk of data loss and the associated costs of business downtime," said Philip Belcher, Managing Director for StorageTek Australia/New Zealand. "MirrorStore plays a key role in StorageTek's Information Lifecycle Management strategy by enabling customers to create a secondary copy of their critical information to protect it in the event of system failure or disaster."

The company also announced the availability of its new modular tape library system - the StreamLine SL8500.

"Enterprises need a way to balance the exponential growth of data with the right way to collect, move, share, store and protect it," said Belcher. "The StreamLine SL8500 is the first offering in our newest family of modular library solutions that builds on our rich heritage in automated tape and broadens our current portfolio of Information Lifecycle Management options.

Finally, StorageTek released the latest in its BladeStore family of data protection products.

The company is to offer serial ATA (SATA)-based solutions, and has also introduced the B250 two-gigabit blade array module for integration within its existing BladeStore architecture.
