SNIA welcomes three new members

Acer, Brocade and Cisco Systems are the latest in a growing list of companies to join Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) ANZ.

The three new members will join the eleven current voting members: Computer Associates, EMC, Hitachi Data Systems, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Imation, LEGATO Software, Network Appliance, Quantum SSG, Sun Microsystems and VERITAS Software and Non-Voting members: Infinity I/0, Iomega and Markom Marketing.

Chairman of the SNIA ANZ and Product Manager for EMC, Mark Heers said: "We're delighted to welcome Acer Brocade and Cisco to the SNIA ANZ. Following the Board election later this month and the launch event early December, we will be working hard towards achieving our initial objectives and will appreciate the involvement and support of three such well respected storage companies."

More than 300 companies and individuals make up SNIA, which is a not-for-profit organization for the storage industry. SNIA members share a common goal which is to set the pace of the industry by ensuring that storage networks become efficient, complete and trusted solutions, according to the association.

The SNIA ANZ Board of directors will be elected from the existing membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 21st November.
