HDS to up the power of Thunder
Hitachi Data Systems is set to ramp up the power of its midrange line of storage with the introduction of the Thunder 9580V, according to reports in the US.
Sources say the Thunder 9580V will double the cache available to 8 Gigabytes, with the front-end connectivity of the system also to double to cope with a maximum of eight fibre channel ports.
HDS is also expected to announce the availability of the NetApp NAS gateway for the Thunder arrays.
