Adaptec to demo iSCSI interoperability at SNW

Storage solution provider Adaptec is to demonstrate the interoperability of its IP storage area network (SAN) solutions in a storage ecosystem at this week's Storage Networking World (SNW), taking place in Orlando, Florida.

The interoperability and solutions demonstration will show the compatibility of IP SAN solutions from a host of vendors, including Adaptec, Cisco Systems, EMC Corporation, Intel, NetApp and Spectra Logic. The ecosystem will include Adaptec iSCSI host bus adapters and iSCSI-to-Serial ATA storage arrays for storage area networks.

The joint demonstration will highlight how iSCSI leverages the Ethernet and how the speed and reliability of SCSI can make it simple and affordable for organisations to deploy and manage storage area networks. iSCSI enables low-cost SANs for storage and business applications such as e-mail, database, video editing, backup, data protection, storage consolidation and disaster recovery.

Adaptec will also showcase interoperable end-to-end solutions that help organisations scale system performance, data protection and capacity to their expanding storage requirements. The solutions span direct-attached ASICs to plug-and-play solutions for storage area networks.

"Rapid data growth is increasing demand for solutions that enable businesses to seamlessly and cost-effectively scale storage to their needs," said Ahmet Houssein, Vice President and General Manager of Adaptec's Storage Solutions Group. "Adaptec's suite of interoperable end-to-end storage solutions make it significantly easier for organisations to deploy, configure and upgrade storage."
