New and old world benefit from StorageTek and McData deal
StorageTek and McData have inked a deal that will see StorageTek sell McData storage systems in Europe, Latin America and our Asian Pacific region.
The alliance, as the two parties describe it, will see StorageTek market McData's 'core-to-edge' networking systems. The aim of the deal, they claim, is to enable customers to "match multi-vendor, multi-protocol flexible storage networking solutions with their preferred environment," they said in a statement.
"It is especially important that vendors work together to help customers make maximum use of existing infrastructure and integrate new additions seamlessly. StorageTek now sells and supports McData's core-to-edge family of storage networking products worldwide," said Philip Belcher, the managing director of StorageTek's Australian branch office.
The main systems that StorageTek will be shifting are McData's Sphereon switch and the Intrepid Director platform.
