EMC moves to new Canberra office and is awarded

EMC has seen government business in Canberra grow so much that the US storage vendor has had to move into a new office in the suburb of Kingston. EMC claims its government revenue from Canberra has increased ten-fold in the last two years.

"This significant increase in government sales represents the highest growth rate for EMC in any of our sectors in Australia," said Steve Redman, the managing director of EMC's Australian branch office. He added, "Whilst exponential growth has been the catalyst for relocating to a larger premises in Kingston, the move also reflects the strategic importance of growing EMC's business in the government sector and the Canberra region."

As well as opening the new office, which was opened by Senator Richard Alston, EMC received a Certificate of Recognition from the Federal Government.

In a statement, Mr Alston said, "The Government will continue to ensure that the efforts of companies like EMC Australia that conduct ICT industry development activities in Australia are formally recognised for the role they plan in developing the sector."
