NetApp and Fujitsu Siemens score good Oracle marks

Network Appliance and Fujitsu Siemens have served 6,272 concurrent users with an average response time of 1.07 seconds when using, setting a claimed world record.

The record was set when the two companies took part in the Oracle Applications Standard Benchmark (OASB) test. The test involved Network Appliance's (NetApp) F880 storage device and a Fujitsu Siemens Solaris/SPARC based PRIMEPOWER 850 using Oracle 9i e-business suite.

The performance test combined the NetApp F880 storage devices and Fujitsu Siemens Solaris/SPARC based PRIMEPOWER 850 with Oracle9i Database Release 2, all running the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.6.

Oracle developed the benchmark to test the performance levels of systems that are serving large numbers of users of the e-business applications. The test involves 18 distinct transactions and five reports from seven modules from the supply chain and finance business scenarios taking place.
